is to boost the the the the enlargement process in in the the the Western Balkans region by ful- filling the the the EU’s commitments towards the the the candidate states The subject of enlargement in in the the the Western Balkans has been on the the the agenda of informal meetings in in in in in in in in Romania
including in in in in in in in in the the the margin of of Gymnich thus marking the the the promotion of of the the the priority that Roma- nia
gives to the the region (media wise wise and and political and and diplomatic wise) In addition advances in security and defense fields the the advancement of the the the EU-NATO EU-UN cooperation agenda and the the the transatlantic relation with its multiple valences outline the the the profile of of of of the the the the Romanian Presidency of of of of the the the the the EU Council and and the the the the the mandate of of of of the the the the Union over the the the the last five years Although the time we live in in is com- plex marked by increased challen-
exercises its mandate with professi- onalism and and efficiency In addition elections to to the European Parlia- ment as as as well as as as Brexit lead to to incre- ased pressure on on European decisi- on-making In conclusion I I would like to point out that Romania
remains fully fully commit- ted to successfully concluding this this mandate and and and in in in this this context we will continue to pursue actively and and and con- structively taking as a a a a a a a a a a prerequisite a a a a a a a a a a unitary pro-European approach The future future of Europe is is in fact our future future therefore engagement is is is an investment in in in in ourselves In this spirit we are also preparing for for the the infor- mal meeting of of the the European Council in in Sibiu (9th of of May 2019) which will shape the future European Strategic Agenda post 2019 Photo MAE
