THE SUPERVISORY, CONTROL AND DATA ACQUISITIONS (SCADA) FOR THE CRUDE OIL TRANSPORT PROCESS
CONPET S.A. offers specialized services of oil transport via pipelines and by railway tanks (CF), ensuring the supply of refineries with crude oil and its derivatives (rich gas and ethane) from the domestic and imported production.
Overall, SNTT via pipelines consists of a network with a total length of approx. 3000 km of pipelines crossing 24 counties of the country, 96 pumping stations and warehouses and 11 loading/unloading ramps.
The transport operations are coordinated by the Central Dispatch in Ploiesti.
The action of modernizing the transport system is a key objective and it targets the assimilation of new concepts, new technologies, state-of-the art equipment and machineries.
An important step in this respect was represented by the implementation of a SCADA system in CONPET, for a better control of the transport operations.
In 2017 was initiated the implementation of the SCADA system optimization and upgrade of the Hardware and Software of the data transmission and automation System used by CONPET S.A.
The initial project was partly financed by the World Bank, benefitting from the support of an external consultant. After completing training sessions on each type of equipment and after finalisation, the system has been and is currently maintained by CONPET specialists.
Automation
The automation part or the Automatic Control Systems, ACS or DCS are also in operation and are subject to the same project mentioned above.
THE COMMAND AND CONTROL SYSTEM comprises the following main functions :
l data acquisition
l process management, data archiving
l parameters display
l warning of alarm situations and events
l data validation
l simulation and prognosis of pipeline leakages l system surveillance
l process statistic control
l execution of application software
l system configuration
l estimation of parameter/status trends
