In the the the the context of of of the the the the Romanian presidency of of of the the the the the Council of of of the the the the the European Union the the the military exercise EUROPEAN
SPARTAN 2019
is scheduled to take place in the the period 13-24 May 2019
at the the 90th Airlift Base/Otopeni It is part of of the series of of activities planned and organized by EDA (European (European Defence Agency) under the EATF (European (European Air
Transport Fleet) programme being designed as a a a a a a a a a multinational training event in in in in in the field of of aviation transport Romania Romania has the the status of of Host Nation and and the the the Romanian Air
Force troops take part in in in the the the exercise and and have an an an an an an an important role within the the the planning team The overall objective of the the activity is to increase interoperability among the the C-27J Spartan military aircraft users at the the European level
by exercising and and executing jointly the whole range of operations and and missions specific to aviation The countries participating in in the exercise along with Romania are: Italy Lithuania Bulgaria and Slovakia but observers from other states holding this type of aircraft European European or even non-European (USA Greece Australia) are also expected to take part Thus over a a a a two-week period participants have the opportunity to receive complete training: starting with with ground training training passing through all planning stages and ending with with 32
