maintains its top position in the electricity supply market
The supplier with the largest Romanian capital and a tradition of more than 120 years, Electrica Furnizare is an important player on the market, with a turnover of 835 million euros in 2017,
it supplies electricity for approximately 3.5 million customers and, since 2017, is also a natural gas supplier. In the first half of 2018, Electrica Furnizare had a market share of end-users of electricity of 17.31%.
The company management team has announced
their strategic objectives: consolidating the customer portfolio; reorganizing and optimizing activities that

can drive sales and profit growth; the modernization
of the Commercial Offices network; developing the IT systems by creating a unitary customer information system, developing alternative channels of interaction with customers (communication and payments).
Electrica Furnizare sells electricity as:
a competitive supplier for any interested customer in the country. On 30/06/2018, the company's portfolio included a number of over 230,000 places of consumption across the whole country.
- the ultimate supplier for household / non-household customers providing them universal service or for non- household customers who do not benefit from the universal service but whose competitive supplier is in a position to have their supply license withdrawn / suspended in the course of their business. The area covered in this case is: Transylvania and northern Muntenia (counties of Satu Mare, Maramureş, Bihor, Sălaj, Bistrița Năsăud, Cluj, Alba, Sibiu, Braşov, Covasna, Harghita, Mureş, Dâmbovița, Prahova, Buzău, Vrancea, Galați şi Brăila). On 31.12.2017, Electrica Furnizare held a number of over 3,300,000 consumer places.
In order to ensure the supply of electricity to customers
in the portfolio, Electrica Furnizare supports the following activities:
• purchasing electricity from centralized markets;
• shaping the consumption curves and ensuring the balance of clients in the portfolio;
• signing contracts with network operators;
• selling electricity and natural gas to end-users.
