How did you get the idea of setting up the clinic?
I used to work in the financial field, namely in financial audit services, being a graduate of the Faculty of Cybernetics, Statistics and Economic Informatics. I have always been passionate about medicine, and for many years I was pretty sure that I was going to be a doctor. However, because of some health problems that I experienced in the 10th grade, I changed my mind because I was
very scared. At that time I
did not know how to handle such feelings/emotions and I decided to turn to a different direction.
Kineto Land was born out of my love for medicine, but also because of a long period of recovery. Financial audit is an area that involves many office hours, stress, leaving home at 8 a.m. and returning at 9-10 p.m. For me, this busy schedule resulted in excruciating back pain and a L5-S1 lumbar discopathy and I ended
up trying to find a medical recovery centre tailored to my needs.
Călin, my associate, kept telling me that I should resign and
we should start a business together. And that is what
I did. I resigned, and that happened just when the
rules for the governmental grants Start UP Nation were published.
The investment into this centre includes the EUR 44,000 received through the Start UP Nation programme.
I am now focused on me and Călin growing this business. At the same time, because I am
still young (I am 27 years old), I made the decision to follow my dream - in the summer of 2019 I will apply for admission at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila”.
Thinking in retrospect, between the time of inauguration and today, to what extent have you met your target?
The clinic was opened in June 2018, and we can say that
we are performing according to the plan. The income has followed an upward trend, in accordance with the budgeted amounts, but we have not yet gone through all the cycles of a year. This type of business can be influenced by the season, or at least this is what we believe now, after seeing the transition from summer to autumn and this is what we are taught by different tools using certain keywords (e.g. kinesitherapy), that show a decrease in the months of August, December and January.
Are you bringing anything new to the Bucharest kinesitherapy market?
Honestly, first of all I tried to find a solution to all the things that I found unpleasant when I was recovering. With regard to the therapy, we invest heavily in the team that we have created, we want our staff to attend trainings and conferences and try to specialise in different branches, such as the locomotor system, neurology, paediatrics and geriatrics. Another thing is that each patient is assigned a case manager who keeps our
