It’s a fact that Romania has the largest reserve of mineral water in Europe and that AQUA Carpatica, a premium quality natural mineral water is Romania’s fastest growing brand in a highly competitive market.
Even if AQUA Carpatica was launched on the Romanian
market more than seven
years ago –the genesis of
the AQUA Carpatica mineral water having started millions
of years ago –,the sales and market share still continue to increase exponentially, and the brand acquired world-wide awareness.
Founded by Jean Valvis, who has also built the brands Dorna and LaDorna, the company Carpathian Springs, which bottles natural mineral water under the AQUA Carpatica brand, reported a turnover of RON 186 million (over EUR 41 million) last year, increasing sales by 20% compared to the previous year.
The brand has a solid presence on the Romanian market, and has also built an international reputation, with exports to mature markets such as the USA, the UK or Germany.
“We are in the early stages of developing the export activity, but the future of our brand
is extremely promising as far as exports are concerned.
We can see it in the export figures, which have tripled
in some countries. We focus
on the USA, UK, Japan,
China, Germany and Dubai. Our efforts are directed towards those markets”, said Jean Valvis, owner of Valvis Holding, a group that includes Carpathian Springs. Jean Valvis’s plan, which is no secret, is to impose AQUA Carpatica as one of the best-selling mineral water brands in the world.
And the consistently positive results since the launch of the brand, with sales growth of 20- 30% each year, confirm such expectations. 2018 is following the same upward trend, even if the results are not final yet.
“Our ten-year goal is to become the first water brand in the world. (...) Romania can become for mineral waters what Scotland is for whiskey, or Bordeaux for red wines”, says Jean Valvis with enthusiasm. The studies conducted so far have revealed part of the AQUA Carpatica success, more precisely the scientific basis
of the unrivalled commercial success that the brand enjoys. Researchers have determined that AQUA Carpatica is a stable water, rich in minerals, suitable for a low-sodium diet and, most importantly, with no detectable nitrates. Nitrates and nitrites, indicators of water pollution, are the consequence of a natural phenomenon that affects the groundwater. AQUA Carpatica natural sparkling mineral water is naturally carbonated by ancient subterranean volcanoes and not artificially. It is naturally
rich in electrolytes to improve hydration, highly mineralized and devoid of physical- chemical and microbiological indicators of contamination. Every litre provides Potassium, nearly 39 per cent of an
adult’s recommended daily requirement of Calcium and 26 per cent of Magnesium.
AQUA Carpatica still natural mineral water has a low mineral content, falling into the oligomineral water category. All its components are in perfect balance and it’s recommended by the Romanian Paediatric Society for the preparation
of baby food and everyday hydration. Courtesy of the water’s pure composition and naturally high alkaline pH level (7.8), AQUA Carpatica delivers an unrivalled flavor and unmatched pure taste.
