            Damen Shipyards Mangalia
The largest shipyard in the Damen portfolio
Formerly known as Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industries (DMHI), Damen Shipyards Mangalia is located on the Black Sea coast of Romania and
is operated as a joint venture with the Romanian Government. Damen Dutch Group assumed operational control of the yard on 20 July 2018. Damen Shipyards Mangalia has three dry
docks with a total length of 982 metres and 1.6 kilometres of berthing space, and can provide
a total plate cutting capacity of 15.000 tons/ month. The docks, with a width of 48 and 60 meters, allow shipbuilding and conversion of larger vessels and structures, such as cruise ships, RoPax ferries and Offshore construction vessels. The yard’s total area of approx. 1 million m2 makes it the largest yard in the Damen Shipyards Group.
In addition to new builds, Damen Shipyards
Mangalia has a strong expertise in maritime repairs and conversions and it operates a dedicated division in this respect, the strategic placement of the yard at the Black Sea representing a high potential factor in this shipbuilding industry sector.
